Scorecard for scientific writing

Anthony Haynes writes: With some types of writing, there may be little consensus amongst readers about which qualities are desirable. Poetry, for example. But with scientific writing, there is a reasonable consensus.

The scorecard for scientific writing identifies a dozen canons and provides a few thoughts on each one designed to nudge your writing in the right direction.

Note that a dozen is too many to think about all at the same time: for best results when writing or editing, use the tool to help you choose which quality (or, at most, which few qualities you wish to focus on.

The scorecard is available here: 09 Mar 16 dev eq canons.
